Strategies to STOP Covid-19

Amid ALL the uncertainties of the Covid-19 (Corona virus) pandemic, we must all be vigilant to protect ourselves and others. As the Director of Integral Health Solutions, I care about your health and well-being, both immediately and in the long run.

Many of us are feeling confused, frazzled, and fearful,
due to the totally unpredictable nature
of this situation.
Our normal schedules have been completely disrupted,
and we feel out of control.

This feeling out of control, I believe, is partially due to the prevailing beliefs of our health care system, with its emphasis on ELIMINATING disease, rather than on striving toward personal optimal bodymind health. If we have diabetes or heart disease, we tend to just take a pill, rather than to treat the underlying cause. But, our bodies WANT to be in balance and disease-free. Unfortunately, we often unknowingly prevent that due to our busy lifestyles and improper fuel that we ingest (think sugar, junk food).

HOWEVER, I also
believe that our
bodies are marvelously created.

The major defense that we have against this virus is our immune system, powered primarily by our white blood cells, which are CONSTANTLY being produced in the body. One way to feel MORE IN CONTROL is to bolster your immune system in as many ways as possible.

Most of us now know the CDC recommendations: wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds; avoid touching your face; and keep a 6 foot distance from other people when out in public. REMEMBER: this virus is spread by droplet, so anyone near you coughing, sneezing or even talking loudly can possibly infect you.

Here are more suggestions from trusted health care professionals:

  • Get 7–8 hours of sleep every night. Night time is when the immune system rejuvenates and does most of its work.
  • Wear gloves when you’re out in public touching common surfaces, such as the gas pump, grocery cart handles, door handles, etc.
  • Eat a plant-strong diet, rich in leafy greens and other colorful veggies (French fries don’t count!). These foods are rich in anti-oxidants and other essential nutrients which power the immune system.
  • Avoid processed foods and sugar. These are highly inflammatory and stress the immune system.

If you would benefit from individual advice to boost YOUR immune system, I would love to work with you in my 1:1 Health Coaching program.
